Maj Jeffrey D. Goodell

Major Goodell was commissioned a Seconded Lieutenant in Aug of 1996. Upon completion of the Basic School in Quantico Va, and Field Artillery Officer Basic course in Ft Sill Ok, he reported to 3rd Bn 12th Marines, 3D Marine Division, Okinawa Japan where he served as Forward Observer, Battery Executive Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, Battalion Fire Direction Officer, and as the Staff Secretary on the division Staff where he was promoted to Captain. Upon his completion of his tour in Japan in 2001, he was directed to report to Marine Detachment, Ft Sill Ok to serve as a Fire Support Instructor. In June of 2003 he was selected to attend resident PME in Quantico VA.

Following graduation of Expeditionary Warfare School in in 2004, Major Goodell reported to 1st Battalion 11th Marines in Camp Pendleton CA, where he served as the Operations Officer and Commander of Battery A. As Battery Commander, he successfully deployed his battery for a combat tour in support of OIF operating in the far western area of Iraq near the border with Syria and Jordan. Following his promotion to Major in October of 2006, he served as a Fire Support Representative ( CY-22) at Tactical Training Exercise Control Group at Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Center in Twenty Nine Palms CA until his transfer to MCB Hawaii in July 2009 for duty with 1st Bn 12th Marines.

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
