Sergeant Major  Robert E. Eriksson Sergeant Major Eriksson enlisted in the Marine Corps July, 1984. After boot camp, he received orders to 1st Battalion 12th Marines as a Field Artillery Cannoneer. During this tour he was promoted meritoriously to the ranks of Lance Corporal and Corporal. In September 1988, Sergeant Major Eriksson received orders to 4th Battalion, 10th Marines, as a Gun Section Chief. In June 1989, Sergeant Major Eriksson was reassigned to the School of Infantry, where he served as a troop handler, and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In January 1990, Sergeant Major Eriksson was reassigned to 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines, where he served as the Local Security Chief. In August 1991, Sergeant Major Eriksson received orders to 4th Battalion, 12th Marines, where he served as a Gun Section Chief. In September 1992, Sergeant Major Eriksson received orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, where he served as a Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. Sergeant Major Eriksson was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in September of 1994. In January 1995, Sergeant Major Eriksson received orders to 1st Battalion, 12th Marines, where he served as the Guns Platoon Sergeant and Battery Gunnery Sergeant. In March 1998, Sergeant Major Eriksson received orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, where served as a Series Chief Drill Instructor, Company First Sergeant, and District Drill Instructor. Sergeant Major Eriksson was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in November of 1998. In June 2002, Sergeant Major Eriksson was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and assigned to 1st Battalion, 3d Marines. In August 2005, Sergeant Major Eriksson was transferred to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, where served as Company First Segeant and Battalion Sergeant Major. SgtMaj Eriksson was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major in August of 2006. In July 2008, Sergeant Major Eriksson was transferred to 3d MLG, Okinawa Japan where he served as the Battalion Sergeant Major for Combat Logistics Battalion 4 until October 2009. In October 2009, Sergeant Major Eriksson was transferred to Marine Air Control Group 18, where he served as the Group Sergeant Major. In April 2011, Sergeant Major Eriksson was Transferred to Marine Corps Base Hawaii, to serve as the Base Sergeant Major. Sergeant Major Eriksson’s personal decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, with 2 gold stars in lieu of 3rd award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, with 1 gold star in lieu of 2nd award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon, with 1 gold star in lieu of 2nd award.
